Mahabubnagar: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud on Thursday accused the Andhra Pradesh government of creating unnecessary disputes over Krishna water sharing and wanted the government to withdraw such moves.

“If Andhra Pradesh government wants to ensure peace and harmony among the two Telugu States, then it should suspend the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme works. Works should be resumed only after obtaining the necessary permissions,” he said and asked the AP Ministers to withdraw their comments in this regard.

Addressing the media here, the Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao always strives for welfare and development, besides ensuring the safety and security of people, irrespective of their nativity. “During the last seven years, no one hailing from Andhra Pradesh has lodged a single harassment complaint nor has there been any inconvenience caused to Andhra people settled here,” the Minister said, adding that the Telangana government had not removed any statues from Tank Bund or changed parks names.
