Hyderabad: BRS MLC and former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s daughter Surabhi Vani Devi has criticized the Congress government’s one-year rule, stating that it reminded people of the dark days of the past.

Speaking at a round table conference organized by Telangana Jagruthi at the Press Club, she said the statue of Telangana Thalli, crafted under the guidance of BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao adhering to principles of traditional sculpture always stood grand. She accused the Congress government of conspiring to hurt the emotions of the people.

The round table conference, held at Somajiguda Press Club, was attended by MLC K Kavitha, MLC Deshapathi Srinivas, former government advisor Ramanachari, Juluri Gouri Shankar, Ayachitam Sridhar, T Vijaya, Deviprasad, poets, artists, intellectuals, professors, activists, and leaders of SC, ST, and BC associations.

Speakers wanted Telangana Jagruthi and the BRS party to undertake a programme to unveil thousands of Telangana Thalli statues reaching out to every family and every village. They demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy explain what punishment would be given to ministers and Congress leaders who insulted Bathukamma, a symbol of self-respect for women.
