Hyderabad: A degree student died by suicide after losing money in online betting at Maheshwaram of Ranga Reddy district.
Sai Kiran (21), a resident of Pochamma Basthi in Maheshwaram, was pursuing his degree first year from a college in the city.
On Friday night, he doused himself with fuel and set ablaze. He was rushed to hospital and pronounced dead at hospital.
The family members of Sai Kiran informed the police that, he was addicted to online betting and lost money. He also borrowed money from his friends. On being reprimanded, he resorted to the extreme step. The police registered a case and started an investigation.
