Immersion of Ganesh idols peaceful in Bhainsa

A total of 600 police officers, including 28 sub-inspectors, 30 inspectors, and two DSPs, were deployed to maintain order during the procession. Additionally, 200 CCTV cameras and four drones were used to monitor the route and track potential troublemakers.

Nirmal: Shobayatra or the procession of immersion of Ganesh idols passed off peacefully in communally sensitive Bhainsa town under fool-proof security arrangements on Sunday night.

As many as 600 policemen including 28 sub-inspectors, 30 Inspectors, two DSPs were deployed to prevent untoward incidents during the procession, while 200 CCTV cameras were installed and four drone cameras were flown along the route of the event to keep a tab on trouble makers.

Mudhole MLA Ramarao Patel, Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila and Bhainsa ASP Avinash Kumar, RDO Komal Reddy and Utsava committee president P Kashinath performed special prayers at an idol of Ganesh placed in a temple to kick start the procession in the afternoon. Members of various religious organisations participated in the event which went on till midnight.

The procession of idols witnessed dance shows and Kolatam by women in Vinayaknagar, Sainagar, Puranabazar, Marwadi Galli and many other areas of the town. LED lamps were used to light up the route with a stalling supply of power as a precautionary measure. The sleepy town has come alive with thousands of devotees taking part in the procession.

Security was stepped at Panjesha chowk known for communal conflicts. Sharmila and Avinash Kumar supervised the security, while traffic restrictions were imposed at the junction.

Around 150 idols were immersed at Gaddennavagu irrigation project located on the outskirts of the town with the help of a large crane by midnight. Expert divers were kept available at the spot to rescue devotees if they slipped into the project.
