Kodad: BRS leaders staged a demonstration in Kodad town on Thursday, demanding that work on the hospital building be resumed. It has been over ten months since the foundation stone was laid on February 7, 2024, by Ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Thummala Nageswar Rao, and Damodar Raja Narasimha. Despite assurances from the administration, which recently celebrated the completion of one year in governance, no significant progress has been made.

The administrative approval for upgrading the 20-bed hospital to a 100-bed facility was granted during the BRS regime, with an allocation of Rs 29 crore. However, the construction has been stalled, and the hospital continues to operate with only four out of its sanctioned 16 doctors. Ministers had assured that all civil works would be completed at the earliest, but the delay has frustrated the local community.

BRS leaders, led by B Shravan, criticized the government for failing to fulfill its promises. Development works worth Rs 800 crore were promised, and foundation stones were laid for some projects, but only plaques remain as silent witnesses to unmet commitments.

The BRS leaders vowed to continue their protest until the government takes concrete steps to resume and expedite the construction work.
