Hyderabad: After two to three days of heat and sunny weather, people in Hyderabad were able to breathe a sigh of relief. Light to heavy rains were witnessed in several localities and the overnight spell of this has impacted the temperature. The overnight drizzle in several localities led to a noticeable dip in city’s temperature by more than 5 degree Celsius.

On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded in the city was 25.6 degree Celsius as against a normal of around 31 degree Celsius. Although there were no heavy downpours, many areas recorded light drizzles throughout the day.


Quthbullapur recorded the highest rainfall of 1.5 mm, as of Monday evening. According to the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) the city will witness light to moderate rainfall for the next three days. The maximum temperatures in the city for a few days are expected to be in the range of 29 to 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperatures to be in the range of 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department has issued Orange alert for Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet. As per the forecast, these districts might receive heavy to very heavy downpours for the next two days. On Monday, Mallaram in Rajanna Sircilla received the highest rainfall of 101.8 mm.
